1. Basics
All pages are connected with each other by
so-called "links" or "hyper-links", as they
often are referenced to. (Users of the World
Wide Web will already know this concept.) A link may consist of text or even an image. You may recognize a text-link by its different appearance. Compared to plain text, a link bears a different colour (which changes when the mousepointer is being moved over it) and is always underlined. CLUE: The easiest way of recognizing a link is to watch the shape of the mousepointer. When moving the mousepointer over a link, it changes into a hand (with the forefinger stretched off). You browse the CD-ROM by clicking on the links. Just one click with the left Mousebutton - and there you are! CLUE: If you should follow a link accidentially, you can always get back to the last page by clicking the button "Back" in your Browser Window. 2. Navigation-Bars Looking at the left area of the window, you see the Main Navigation Bar which provides you with the main chapters that can be found on the CD.
When moving the mouse over a chapter title, it
will change its colour into blue. Now it can be
activated with a single mouseclick (remember - just
like any other hyperlink!). After clicking, you
will see the main page of the selected chapter in
the right area of the window. However, some chapters contain such a lot of information that they won't fit onto a single page. In the "products"-area, this is very much the case. When entering such an area, you will recognize a second navigation bar located in the upper right area of the window. This Theme-related Navigation Bar helps you to quickly oversee the content of the current chapter. For instance, this could be sub-chapters like "working materials" or "spare parts" in the "products"-area.
Attention: If pages are not being displayed as they should,
the reason could be that you have already installed a browser on your
system which is outdated and therefore unable to recognize newer
standards of programming.
